Meet Dr. Imanuel Babayev

When you need oral surgery, experience, planning, and patient comfort matter. Dr. Imanuel Babayev provides oral and maxillofacial surgery in Norwalk, Connecticut, with a focus on efficient treatment, advanced surgical planning, and a calmer experience for patients who may feel nervous about care.
Dr. Babayev has completed more than 50,000 tooth extractions, more than 15,000 wisdom teeth cases, more than 4,500 dental implant placements, and more than 10,000 sedation and anesthesia cases. His background allows him to care for patients who need anything from a single extraction to dental implants, bone grafting, wisdom teeth removal, full-arch implant treatment, oral pathology evaluation, TMJ assessment, or IV sedation.
Education and Oral Surgery Training
One of four children, Dr. Babayev spent his early childhood in New London, CT, and was then raised in Queens, New York. He graduated from CUNY Queens College in 2007 with majors in applied mathematics and biochemistry.
He continued his education at New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011. That same year, Dr. Babayev began his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Kings County Hospital Center, in conjunction with SUNY Downstate Medical School and Medical Center, is known for its Level I trauma center environment. This setting gave Dr. Babayev broad surgical training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, IV sedation, general anesthesia, oral pathology, and TMJ-related concerns.
Advanced Fellowship Training
After residency, Dr. Babayev completed an orthognathic surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY. This advanced training strengthened his understanding of jaw structure, bite function, facial balance, and complex surgical planning.
While the practice primarily focuses on office-based oral surgery, dental implants, extractions, wisdom teeth, bone grafting, sedation, and related procedures, this additional training helps support Dr. Babayev’s comprehensive approach to oral and maxillofacial care.

Oral Surgery Services
Dr. Babayev provides comprehensive oral surgery care at Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Fairfield County. His services include tooth extractions, wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, immediate implant placement after tooth extraction, bone grafting, sinus lifts, Teeth-in-a-Day, oral pathology exams, TMJ treatment, and IV sedation.
Many patients come to the office through referrals from their dentist or another provider. Dr. Babayev also sees patients who need a second opinion or want to better understand their oral surgery options.
Dental Implants and Immediate Implant Placement
Dental implant treatment is one of Dr. Babayev’s key areas of focus. He has placed more than 4,500 dental implants and has extensive experience with extraction and immediate implant placement when appropriate.
For patients with failing or non-restorable teeth, immediate implant placement may allow the tooth to be removed and the implant placed during the same surgical visit. Dr. Babayev uses clinical evaluation, CBCT imaging, and surgical planning to determine whether this option is appropriate or whether a staged approach would provide a better result.
Wisdom Teeth and Complex Extractions
Dr. Babayev has completed more than 15,000 wisdom teeth cases and more than 50,000 extractions. This experience supports efficient care for patients with impacted wisdom teeth, painful teeth, infected teeth, broken teeth, or teeth that cannot be predictably saved.
Because many patients feel anxious about extractions or wisdom teeth removal, Dr. Babayev focuses on clear communication, careful planning, and comfort-focused treatment from consultation through recovery.
Bone Grafting, Sinus Lifts, and Full-Arch Implant Support
Some patients need additional bone support before dental implants can be placed. Dr. Babayev has completed more than 1,000 bone grafting cases and more than 200 sinus lift cases, allowing him to help patients who need stronger support for future implant treatment.
He also has experience with full-arch implant rehabilitation, including immediate full-arch cases and implant-supported denture treatment. These procedures require detailed planning, surgical experience, and coordination with the final restoration.
IV Sedation and Patient Comfort
Dr. Babayev believes oral surgery should feel as comfortable and manageable as possible. He offers mild, moderate, and deep IV sedation when appropriate for patients undergoing extractions, wisdom teeth removal, implant placement, bone grafting, biopsies, or other surgical procedures.
With more than 10,000 sedation and anesthesia cases completed, Dr. Babayev can help patients who are anxious, need more involved treatment, or prefer a calmer surgical experience.
Advanced Technology and Surgical Planning
Our office uses advanced dental technology to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education. This may include CBCT 3D imaging, TRIOS intraoral scanning, and digital implant planning when appropriate.
These tools help Dr. Babayev evaluate bone volume, tooth position, nerves, sinuses, jaw structure, and implant placement needs before treatment begins.
